Australian Viola da Gamba Society

Based in Sydney, but with state reps, runs an annual national Viola da Gamba residential school held usually in a capital city, but sometimes in a regional centre. In April, 2007, the school was held in Melbourne. More information: http://www.avdgs.org.au

National Music Camp

The National Music Camp is run by the Australian Youth Orchestra and takes place in a different state each year.  Programs are offered as ‘performance’ based or ‘non-performance’ based. Orpheus Music

Orpheus Music  organises three annual music courses in Armidale, NSW in January.  These comprise:

Early Chamber Summer School (4-9 January 2009)

Six days of chamber workshops for intermediate and advanced players of bowed and plucked strings, wind, keyboard and advanced vocalists.

Modern and early instruments welcome.

Orpheus Music Recorder Course (11-16 January 2009)

Six days of workshops for recorder players of all levels.

The INAUGURAL Orpheus Music Choral Course (18-23 January 2009)

Six days of workshops for choral singers of all levels. Music Director Tobias Cole and Assistant Conductor Liz Scott.
