The FLAME Awards reward and recognise Australia’s inspiring school music programs. Read more about the Awards here. The Awards are run by Music: Play for Life, in association with media partners, ABC Classic FM and ABC Local Radio. The Australian Society for Music Education helps set the entry criteria and manages the shortlisting of finalists in the Awards.

This year the judges are looking for primary schools using creative ways to improve students’ access to instrumental music education and musical instruments.

WHO CAN ENTER?

Public and non-government PRIMARY schools may enter. Awards will be provided to schools in each State and Territory, from which an overall National Winner will be selected.

Entries now open. DEADLINE EXTENDED ONE WEEK!! Now closing on Monday, 13th September 2010, so be quick!.


HOW TO ENTER

There are five easy steps to entering:
  1. Read the entry guidelines.
  2. Prepare an 800 word submission from your school.
  3. Obtain a 200 word submission from a student representative.
    Please note: all entries MUST be submitted with approval of the school principal in order to be accepted. Read the Flame Awards Terms and Conditions.
  4. Download the word template provided and copy/paste both submissions into this document. (Save this document where you can easily locate it for attachment to the registration form).
  5. Complete the online submission process. Attach your saved entry document to the online submission form.

Note: Entry is by online submission only.

Please bear in mind that the Flame Awards are about access and participation. We do NOT require you to send in performance footage or CDs.
