State and Nationwide Ensemble Organisations

Australian National Choral Association

Nationally, a list of some hundreds of choirs that perform many different styles of music.  You search by state. The list of choirs does not necessarily indicate location so you may have to poke around to discover which choirs are accessible to you. The amount of information varies enormously from choir to choir. Some give website addresses where you can seek more information. But in many cases you may have to contact the choir directly to find out what you need to know. More information: http://www.anca.org.au/index.html

Amateur Chamber Music Players of South Australia (ACMPSA)

ACMPSA is an association of chamber music enthusiasts who contact and meet other musicians of their own level of proficiency to play in groups of any size from duos upwards. Even octets are sometimes formed. Members often form groups which meet regularly in each other's homes, but ACMPSA also arranges PLAYING DAYS when members can meet each other and play in a variety of combinations. These events are held on three Sundays every year at the Pembroke School Music Centre.

ACMPSA welcomes players of all standards of proficiency, from reasonable amateur to near professional level, and school students are encouraged to join, and gain valuable ensemble experience. SACE music students can claim the time they spend as part of their practical component.
