Young Conservatorium Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University

Offers a comprehensive range of activities and study modes for pre-tertiary children.

Programs include: Early Childhood Music (birth to 7 years) and Young Beginner – Keyboard, ColourStrings, Harp and Choral (4 to 9 years). Programs are also available in Composition, Jazz Improvisation, Individual Tuition (instrument/vocal/composition), Music Awareness (primary, middle school) and Ensembles (Orchestras – symphony/string/wind, Ensembles; string, symphonic wind, wind, brass, flute and percussion) as well as Big Band and Jazz Ensembles.

Choral ensembles include Melodic Minors, Children’s Chorus, the Young Conservatorium Chamber Choir and Young Conservatorium Singers. Young Conservatorium facilitates the prestigious State Honours Ensemble Program in North Queensland and Brisbane, the Queensland Conservatorium Tertiary Preparation Workshop and a three-day Theory Workshop. Individual Tuition is available for primary/secondary students on: Strings (violin, viola, violoncello, double bass, harp, guitar, bass guitar), Wind (flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, saxophone), Brass (french horn, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, tuba), Percussion (percussion and drum kit), piano, composition (secondary students only) and voice (classical and contemporary). Professional Development is available during Summer and Winter School for instrumental and choral teachers.
